The Minnesota Twins faced off against the Los Angeles Angels in a thrilling three-game series at Target Field, with the Twins emerging victorious in the first two games. The highlight of the series finale was Twins starter Joe Ryan’s outstanding performance on the mound.

In a pitching duel against the Angels’ José Soriano, Ryan showcased his skills by throwing seven scoreless innings. He dominated the game with a total of 98 pitches, 67 of which were strikes, utilizing a mix of pitches including his four-seam fastball, sinker, and splitter. One of his standout moments came in the sixth inning when he struck out Kyren Paris with a sharp sweeper pitch.

Ryan’s stellar outing continued into the eighth inning, where he was replaced by Justin Topa after allowing four hits, one walk, and striking out an impressive 11 batters. Topa closed out the game with two scoreless innings, securing the Twins’ 5-0 victory over the Angels.

The Twins’ offense also played a crucial role in the win, with Ty France, Ryan Jeffers, and Trevor Larnach contributing key hits throughout the game. France started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, followed by an RBI double in the sixth. Jeffers added a two-run double, while Larnach chipped in with an RBI single in the seventh inning.

Following the game, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli praised Joe Ryan’s performance, highlighting his consistency and ability to make adjustments throughout the game. Baldelli commended Ryan’s composure and effectiveness on the mound, noting his impressive strikeout numbers and overall dominance.

With the series sweep against the Angels, the Twins now look ahead to a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. The team will aim to carry the momentum from their recent success and continue their winning streak in the upcoming games.
