Clear Creek Canyon in Colorado will undergo overnight tunnel inspections, leading to the closure of U.S. 6 starting Wednesday, as announced by state officials.
The closure will affect both directions of the highway between Colorado 119 and Interstate from 8 p.m. on Wednesday to 5 a.m. on Thursday, and again from 8 p.m. on Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Additional overnight closures are planned for U.S. 6 between Colorado 58 in Golden and Colorado 119 from July 21-23.
Drivers will be able to detour using Interstate 70.
