In a bold announcement today, former FOX News personality and the current U.S. Attorney for Washington, DC, Jeanine Pirro, declared that her office is collaborating with ICE to identify and remove undocumented immigrants who have allegedly become entrenched within the local justice system.
Pirro criticized the Washington, DC city council for their efforts to obstruct such actions, deeming it an “outrage.” She pointed out that these individuals have managed to evade detection for an extended period, primarily because their immigration status was seldom questioned until now.

No More Sanctuary: Pirro Cracks Down on Illegal Immigration in D.C.
Jeanine Pirro, the former host of Judge Jeanine on Fox News and the acting United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, has announced a new initiative to challenge DC’s sanctuary city policies. Under this initiative, the immigration status of all defendants entering the DC justice system will be verified.
Pirro emphasized that this policy aligns with President Trump’s vision to “Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful,” aiming to prevent undocumented immigrants from congesting the DC justice system. Previously, there was no mechanism in place for verifying immigration status, allowing illegal immigrants to navigate the system as any other defendants would—whether facing conviction or being acquitted and released back onto the streets of DC.
Pirro shared her stance on Twitter/X:
“We are now trying to identify those illegals who are currently burrowed in our criminal justice system, who’ve identified themselves either as citizens or individuals with actual legal status who do not have status or are illegal. Previously, there was no questioning them, and there was certainly no verification of that.”
“[We’re] working with ICE to identify those individuals already in the system that we can then find out from ICE what their status is. Previously, no one even asked. They would just literally go through the system and either be convicted and possibly go to jail or be found not guilty and be released. But the DC City Council has worked very hard to make sure that these individuals avoid any contact with ICE.”

Amazing. This was NOT happening before.

Pirro’s appointment to this role seems to be a strategic choice, reflecting her commitment to enforcing immigration laws in a city that has positioned itself as a sanctuary.
