Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Sunday his readiness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for talks in Istanbul on Thursday following a suggestion from US President Donald Trump. Zelensky also emphasized that Ukraine is expecting a full ceasefire to commence on Monday to establish a foundation for diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
We await a full and lasting ceasefire, starting from tomorrow, to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy. There is no point in prolonging the killings. And I will be waiting for Putin in TĂŒrkiye on Thursday. Personally. I hope that this time the Russians will not look forâŠ
