CNN’s Erin Burnett has once again demonstrated why traditional media is experiencing a significant credibility crisis among the American populace.
In a recent broadcast, Burnett echoed rhetoric that appears to align closely with Antifa’s own narrative, directing her criticism towards what are labeled “right-wing extremists.”
“Antifa is far from a major, sophisticated terror organization like Hezbollah, Hamas, or ISIS,” claimed Burnett. “In fact, it’s not even akin to far-right groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, which have national leadership structures, unlike Antifa. There is no organized hierarchy in the group.”
She then reinforced her argument:
“And according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, compared to right-wing extremists, Antifa violence is rare and limited.”

Incredible!! CNN’s Erin Burnett has just parroted Antifa’s propaganda while simultaneously taking jabs at so-called “right-wing extremists”:

It’s remarkable that this is the same CNN that downplayed the Portland riots of 2020 — a staggering 100 days of chaos led by Antifa. In those events, rioters pillaged and set fire to federal buildings, all while local Democratic leaders, including Mayor Ted Wheeler, idly watched the turmoil unfold.
And let’s not overlook the cold-blooded murder in August 2020, when Michael Reinoehl, an Antifa militant, fatally shot Patriot Prayer supporter 39-year-old Aaron Danielson in the streets of Portland, while Burnett suggests that these issues are relics of the past.
More from the White House:
- Since early June, Antifa militants have besieged the ICE field office in south Portland. These individuals have violently breached the facility using a stop sign as a battering ram, subsequently thrown explosives and projectiles, burned American flags, assaulted, injured officers, doxed officers and berated neighbors, even brought out a guillotine.
- As part of the ongoing siege, dozens have been jailed with serious charges including arson, assaulting federal officers, and resisting arrest.
Meanwhile, in May 2024, an “Antifa anarchist movement” was found responsible for setting fire to over a dozen vehicles belonging to the Portland Police Bureau.
Antifa’s attention span for chaos doesn’t end there; in May 2022, they used smoke grenades, paint-filled balloons, and fireworks to disrupt a campaign event for a Republican candidate.
In August 2021, clashes erupted when Antifa members attacked right-wing demonstrators with explosives and chemical sprays, illustrating a pattern of escalating violence.
This is not merely a recent phenomenon. The trajectory of Antifa’s actions has been documented extensively, including:
- In January 2021, over 100 Antifa demonstrators assaulted police and vandalized property, some armed.
- In October 2020, Antifa rioted during an “Indigenous Peoples Day of Rage,” toppling statues and vandalizing buildings.
- In August 2020, following the shooting of a Patriot Prayer supporter by a member of Antifa, rioting continued unabated.
- By the end of 2020, Portland had seen over 100 days of violence, marked by looting, destruction, and violence against officers.
- Prior to these events, in 2016, Antifa riots incited over $1 million in damages in Portland following the election of President Trump.
To add insult to injury, new data from CSIS, the very think tank Burnett referenced, reveals that left-wing terrorism, including Antifa’s violent engagements, has surged to such an extent that it now outpaces far-right attacks for the first time in over 30 years halfway through 2025! Even Axios, not typically aligned with conservative views, notes the alarming rise in far-left violence.
