An incident of chaos unfolded at the Atlantic Terminal Mall in Brooklyn on Wednesday when an unhinged woman went on a random punching spree, only to be stabbed in the back by one of her victims, according to police reports.

The 40-year-old woman was reportedly attacking shoppers near the Barclays Center when she was confronted by a woman whom she had punched around 1 p.m. The situation escalated quickly as the victim defended herself by stabbing the attacker in the back, causing the attacker to retreat in pain.

Witnesses at the scene described the situation as unexpected, with one police source humorously remarking, “Apparently she punched the wrong person.”

The wounded woman, described by sources as emotionally disturbed, was attended to by emergency responders and quickly transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, she is reported to be in stable condition.

Images captured at the scene show the injured woman being loaded into an ambulance, highlighting the intensity of the situation. The accused stabber, who fled the scene heading northbound on Flatbush Avenue, remains at large as law enforcement continues their search for her.

The incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of public spaces and the need for vigilance in such environments. As the investigation into the altercation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in apprehending the suspect.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story as more details emerge.
