Abilities of Joyful Captain in Universal Tower Defense X

Universal-rarity units have three upgrade paths, each with a distinct leveling system. They gain levels by defeating enemies, earning one Universal XP per takedown. This XP can be used to unlock nodes on permanent upgrade paths, allowing players to select a specialization for the unit.
Joyful Captain’s upgrade paths are Snakeman Path, Kong Gun (Bounceman) Path, and Joyboy Path. Here’s a breakdown of each path:
Snakeman Path
The Snakeman Path offers four passive abilities:
Snakeman
- Attacks chain to enemies within eight studs until the chain extends beyond 40 studs.
- If no more enemies are available to chain, the arm retracts and deals 100% damage.
- For every five enemies hit, a follow-up is gained for the next three attacks (maximum of two follow-ups).
- If only one enemy is hit, the attack deals 180% damage.
Boomerang
- Increases damage by 10% for each enemy hit by the previous attack (up to 50% maximum).
Observation
- Evades any attempted Stun up to six times.
- Gains a dodge every 15 seconds (starting with zero dodges).
Conqueror
- Releases an energy wave every 30 seconds that stuns non-boss enemies in range for two seconds.
Kong Gun (Bounceman) Path
The Kong Gun Path features the following abilities:
Bounceman
- Receives 25% Hyper Armor Damage.
Charge
- Uses the Active Ability to set a custom SPA for the unit’s attack.
- Gains an equivalent amount of Charge to the unit’s SPA for every second without attacking.
- Each Charge boosts damage by 25%, range by 50%, and adds +2 Stud knockback. Knockbacks apply only once per enemy and effects stack up to 10 times.
Conqueror
- Releases an energy wave every 30 seconds that stuns non-boss enemies in range for two seconds.
Armament
- Deals 1.75x damage to armored and hyper-armored enemies.
Joyboy Path
The Joyboy Path includes these passives:
Goofing Around
- Randomly switches between attack variants, ensuring no repetition of the same variant consecutively.
- Determines AoE size and damage boost by picking a random number between 25 and 75.
- Variant 1: Circle AoE, 100% Damage, 25% True Damage for the attack duration.
- Variant 2: Circle AoE, 100% Damage, inflicts 15% damage to enemies in the rubber area.
- Variant 3: Full AoE for 85% damage.
- Variant 4: Circle AoE, 120% Damage.
- After using all four variants, knocks back all enemies in range by 15 studs.
Observation
- Evades any attempted Stun up to six times.
- Gains a dodge every 15 seconds (starting with zero dodges).
Conqueror
- Releases an energy wave every 30 seconds that stuns non-boss enemies in range for two seconds.
Rubber Control
- Attacks leave a bouncy area in the targeted area for 15 seconds, causing enemies there to take 1.5x damage over 10 seconds.
- Enemies in bouncy areas receive 5% increased damage from all sources per second, up to 30% for 15 seconds. Two bouncy areas can be active simultaneously. Does not trigger Variant 3 of Goofing Around.
