A horrifying incident occurred on Sunday in New York City, where a migrant from Guatemala was arrested for allegedly setting a sleeping woman on fire in a subway station. The woman, who was asleep on the train, was attacked at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station around 7:30 a.m.

The suspect was identified by a member of the public while riding a train at 34th Street in Manhattan, as reported by The New York Post. City transportation authority security chief Michael Kemper stated that a “person of interest is in custody” and emphasized the need for strong consequences for such heinous acts.

Shocking footage of the incident circulated on social media, showing the man calmly approaching the victim and using a lighter to ignite her clothing. New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the attack as deliberate and horrific, leading to the tragic death of the victim.

Authorities have not yet charged the suspect, who is believed to have crossed the border from Guatemala in 2018. It remains unclear whether he entered the country illegally. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed, and investigators found her surrounded by liquor bottles at the scene.

The incident has sparked outrage and calls for action to prevent such tragedies in the future. The Biden regime’s immigration policies have also come under scrutiny, with calls for mass deportations of individuals like the suspect in this case. The victim’s body was eventually removed from the scene, but the impact of this senseless act of violence will continue to reverberate in the community.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in society and the need for vigilance in ensuring the safety of all individuals, especially in public spaces like subway stations. The investigation into this case is ongoing, and authorities are working to bring justice to the victim and her family.
