The Trump administration and Russian officials work on revised plan to end Ukraine war
A revised plan to end Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine has been secretly discussed by the Trump administration and Russian officials. The 28-point framework draws inspiration from President Trump’s road map for ending the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
The comprehensive plan aims to not only bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine but also address issues related to security guarantees for Kyiv and Europe, as well as future relations between Washington and the warring nations.
Russian Position Being Heard
Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, expressed optimism about the discussions, stating that the Russian position is being heard. Meetings between Russian and US officials, including Trump special envoy Steve Witkoff, have taken place to further the peace talks.
Zelensky’s Efforts
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts, including a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Zelensky expressed hope for achieving a just peace and acknowledged signals from the United States in support of the peace process.
Despite these efforts, Russian attacks in Ternopil resulted in casualties, emphasizing the urgency of finding a resolution to the conflict.
