Pope Francis seen praying from hospital chapel
The Vatican has released the first photograph of Pope Francis since he was admitted to the hospital over a month ago for pneumonia in both lungs.
“This morning, Pope Francis participated in the Holy Mass in the chapel of the tenth floor of the Gemelli Polyclinic,” the Vatican press office captioned the photo. Concelebration refers to the joint celebration of the service by senior clerics.
The image shows the pope seated in a wheelchair, dressed in a white robe and purple shawl, in front of a simple altar and crucifix on the wall.
