Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli’s Instagram account has mysteriously disappeared from the popular social media platform. Fans were quick to notice on Friday, January 30, that Kohli’s account was no longer visible in the search tab. Even his followers couldn’t find his account in their ‘following’ list. Speculation arose that the 37-year-old may have deactivated his account, but there is also a possibility of a technical glitch causing the disappearance. With over 274 million followers, Kohli holds the title of the most followed cricketer on Instagram.
Interestingly, Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas Kohli’s Instagram account was also deactivated around the same time as Virat’s.
Kohli was last seen in action during India’s three-match home ODI series against New Zealand, where he showcased his exceptional form by finishing as the Men in Blue’s leading run-scorer. Despite his impressive performances, India faced a 1-2 series defeat as New Zealand secured their first-ever bilateral ODI series victory on Indian soil.
Looking ahead, Virat Kohli will next be seen in action during the upcoming IPL 2026. While he is currently active only in the ODI format at the international level, he continues to represent Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League. Kohli and RCB secured their maiden IPL title in a thrilling final against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025, with Kohli emerging as the top run-scorer for his team in the tournament.
In the final, Kohli played a vital knock of 43 runs off 35 balls to help set up the victory for RCB. The team successfully defended their target of 191 runs, limiting PBKS to 184/7 in their 20 overs. Left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya was named the Player of the Match for his excellent spell of 2 wickets for 17 runs.
As fans eagerly await Kohli’s return to action in the IPL, the disappearance of his Instagram account remains a mystery. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
