Vivo has recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the X300 Ultra, at the MWC 2026 event, and it seems to be a game-changer in terms of photography capabilities.

Although Vivo’s presence in Western markets like the UK has been limited, the X300 Ultra is set to launch globally, marking a shift in strategy for the Chinese company. While details about the global release are still pending, the X300 Ultra is expected to compete with top-tier smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in the camera department.

One of the standout features of the X300 Ultra is its advanced camera system, which includes a teleconverter accessory developed in partnership with Zeiss. This accessory offers a massive 400mm equivalent focal range, which can be extended to 800mm through sensor cropping techniques commonly used in smartphones.

In addition to the teleconverter, Vivo is also introducing the Camera Cage accessory for the X300 Ultra, catering to videographers with features like shutter buttons, quick-release ports, and support for mounting additional accessories like flashes, tripods, and cooling fans. The company is positioning the X300 Ultra as a video specialist, with capabilities for multi-focal 4K 120fps recording in 10-bit Log and Dolby Vision formats, enhanced stability with three-degree OIS, and improved audio recording with Quad-Mic technology.

The X300 Ultra is also set to offer advanced video editing features like 4K Master Color Video and Video Color Palette for precise control over tone and contrast. With a focus on delivering cinematic color performance and upgraded Log recording, Vivo is aiming to set a new standard in smartphone videography.
