President Donald J. Trump has made his stance clear: the integrity and security of our elections are of paramount importance. In light of this, the Trump Administration has consistently urged Congress to pass the SAVE America Act — a piece of legislation deemed essential for requiring voters to present photo ID and implementing other vital measures aimed at safeguarding federal elections from fraud and abuse.
However, despite widespread support spanning various demographics, Radical Left Democrat politicians persist in obstructing these reforms. This begs the question: are they prioritizing partisan politics over the clear wishes of the American populace — including their own constituents — and the fundamental security of our electoral processes?
FACT: Voter ID is remarkably popular among Americans.
Surveys consistently reveal that a strong majority — including Democrats, independents, Whites, Blacks, and Latinos — back voter ID requirements.
- Pew Research Center: A staggering 83% of Americans support the requirement for all voters to present government-issued photo ID, with a remarkable 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats on board. Only 16% of Americans oppose this measure.
- Gallup: An impressive 84% of Americans favor requiring photo ID to vote, including 98% of Republicans, 84% of independents, and 67% of Democrats. Additionally, 83% support requiring proof of citizenship for first-time voter registration.
- Further surveys, including those from Napolitan News Service and The Center Square, echo similar sentiments, demonstrating overwhelming support for voter ID.
- CNN reporter Harry Enten: “The bottom line is this: Voter ID is NOT controversial in this country. A photo ID to vote is NOT controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree.”
- NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas: “Voter ID rules do have wide public support, but the vast majority of Democrats on Capitol Hill oppose them.”
This is not merely a minor debate. It is high time for Congress to take decisive action — and for Democratic politicians to cease their obstruction regarding election security.
