Indian solar PV module maker Waaree Energies’ wholly owned subsidiary, Sangam Solar One, has successfully commenced operations at its state-of-the-art 3GW manufacturing facility located in Samakhiali, Kutch, Gujarat. This significant milestone was achieved on 6th April 2026, marking the beginning of a new era in solar energy production in India.

The facility boasts four cutting-edge manufacturing lines, each with an impressive annual capacity of 750MW. This latest development adds to the existing capacity that Waaree Energies has already established at the same site. In November 2025, Sangam Solar One had commissioned two solar module manufacturing lines, each with a capacity of 750MW, bringing the initial capacity to 1.5GW.

Furthermore, Waaree Energies has also successfully commissioned two additional solar module manufacturing lines with a combined capacity of 2.1GW at its facility in Degam village, Navsari district, Gujarat. The plant operations at this location began on 14th November 2025. With these expansions, the total capacity additions across both facilities now stand at an impressive 3.6GW.

In a separate announcement, Waaree Energies disclosed that they have secured a significant one-time order for the supply of solar modules totaling 500MW to a solar power developer operating as an independent power producer. The company anticipates fulfilling this order during the fiscal year 2026–27.

Established in 1990 and headquartered in Mumbai, Waaree Energies has a global presence, operating in more than 20 countries. The company’s diverse portfolio includes solar modules, engineering, procurement, and construction services, inverters, energy storage systems, and green hydrogen technologies.

In a strategic move, Waaree Solar Americas, the US subsidiary of Waaree Energies, recently inked a substantial 599MW solar module supply agreement with an undisclosed independent power producer in the US. This deal underscores the company’s growing presence in the international market.

The company’s expansion in the US market has been fueled by a surge in demand driven by AI-powered data center growth, infrastructure upgrades, and industrial electrification. Notably, Waaree Energies secured 1.2GW in new orders in the US during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025/26.

This momentous development underscores Waaree Energies’ commitment to advancing the renewable energy sector globally and marks a significant step towards achieving a sustainable future powered by clean and green energy sources.
