Letâs get straight to the point.
A jaw-dropping video from the NYPD showcases officers in a high-octane pursuit of two suspected car thieves driving a stolen muscle car.
The footage reveals a chaotic chase through the bustling streets and sidewalks of the Bronx.
According to the New York Post,
âCops received an alert concerning a stolen vehicle around 11 a.m. on September 17 when a bright blue 2025 Dodge Charger tripped a license plate reader at East 167th Street and Morris Avenue.â
âOne of the departmentâs drone pilots spotted the Charger zipping through Claremont Village and transmitted its location to officers below.â
After a thrilling chase, half a dozen police cars pursued the Charger until it collided with an SUV that was halted at a red light.
âGet out of the car! Get out of the car!â an officer was heard shouting as the body camera footage rolled.
The two suspects scrambled out and attempted to flee on foot, but officers were quick to follow.
Both fugitives were swiftly apprehended, with one being found in possession of a firearm. The video clearly illustrates the tense moments that ensued.
Emmanuel Torres, 26, hailing from Newark, NJ, faces charges for illegal gun possession and criminal possession of stolen property.
Ricky Fernandez, 25, from Linden, NJ, was charged with auto theft, drug possession (purportedly crack cocaine), criminal possession of stolen property, and reckless driving.
In a plot twist worthy of a dystopian novel, both men were booked and then released without bail.
You can run, but you canât hide.
When notified about the stolen vehicle, the NYPD sprang into action. With the assistance of our drone unit, the officers on the scene managed to bring the vehicle to a halt and make two arrests, recovering an illegal firearm in the process. pic.twitter.com/hMApZSUOJ0
