In the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Jasprit Bumrah once again showcased his brilliance by dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the second time. This time, it was wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant who completed the catch, as opposed to Shubman Gill who took the catch in the first innings.

The dismissal occurred in the 37th over of Bangladesh’s second innings. Bumrah bowled a full-length delivery that angled in and straightened, catching Miraz on the crease and resulting in a faint outside edge. Pant made no mistake in completing a routine catch towards his right side, earning Bumrah his first wicket of the innings.

Bumrah had already proven to be the standout bowler for India in the first innings, picking up three crucial wickets. With a total of five wickets in the match, including a four-wicket haul in the first Test that India won by 280 runs, Bumrah’s performance has been instrumental in India’s success. As the team gears up for upcoming Test series against New Zealand at home and Australia away, Bumrah’s form will be crucial.

Looking ahead to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia later this year, Bumrah expressed his eagerness to deliver on the big stage. He emphasized the importance of the Bangladesh series as a preparation for the challenging Tests against Australia. Bumrah highlighted the need to stay fit and smart, especially after a long break post the T20 World Cup.

In a recent interview with Jio Cinema, Bumrah stated, “It’s good to get some overs under the belt. Obviously, here (Kanpur) we missed a few days (of cricket), but it’s important to look forward to building my overs and getting ready for Australia.” He acknowledged the difference in conditions between India and Australia, emphasizing the need to be in top form by the time they reach Australia.

Bumrah also reiterated his love for Test cricket, stating, “My favorite format is the Tests; I’ve always said that. I wanted to play this format for a long period of time and I am doing it. I’m trying to give my absolute best in this format.”

As Bumrah continues to excel on the field, his performance will be crucial for India’s success in the upcoming series. With his commitment to the game and determination to deliver consistently, Bumrah remains a key player in India’s bowling attack. Fans can expect to see more impressive performances from the talented pacer as he gears up for the challenges ahead.
