The “Tolerant” Left: A Contradiction in Action
It appears the self-proclaimed champions of tolerance are at it again.
On Thursday, the conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA shared a video on the social media platform X, showcasing an incident from their “Prove Me Wrong” event featuring rapper Topher at Purdue University in Indiana.
The “Prove Me Wrong” series travels to college campuses with the intent of sparking discussions on contentious topics—often those that may unsettle the left.
Previous discussions have ranged from broader concerns like “Prove Me Wrong: College is a Scam” to more polarizing subjects, as noted by the University of Florida’s Independent Florida Alligator, including immigration, white privilege, and LGBTQ+ rights.
In the recent clip, Topher engaged with a leftist protester attempting to disrupt the event when the individual—who defies easy classification—doused him with water.

The unidentified assailant—clad in the typical attire of a modern leftist protester, complete with a surgical mask and cat ears—was seen throwing water directly at Topher.
As Topher attempted to express his views, he was abruptly interrupted mid-sentence, stating, “You have your opinions, just because—” before the incident occurred.
Interestingly, another protester admonished the water-thrower, suggesting, “Don’t do that. You should not have done that.”
The video, though a mere 12 seconds long, highlights Topher’s commendable restraint in the face of such provocation.
However, the racial implications of this act cannot be ignored. Had a white conservative thrown water at a Black liberal simply trying to engage in dialogue, it would likely have ignited a media firestorm and widespread protests.
Yet, leftist radicals often operate under a double standard where their ideological goals justify their tactics, which, ironically, seem to target the very First Amendment they claim to uphold.
The left, once heralded for its commitment to tolerance, seems to have morphed into a movement that employs violence and suppression as standard tactics, leaving the ideals of dialogue and discourse in the dust.
It’s high time college campuses take a stand. Just last week at the University of California, Davis, an event hosted by TPUSA faced violent disruption, with supplies and equipment stolen by masked protesters.
Our “Prove Me Wrong” tabling event with @TheOfficerTatum at UC Davis was completely destroyed by violent protesters.
They stole the canopy, ripped down banners, smashed foam boards, and even tried to steal the iPad and laptop of a @tpusastudents field rep.

At that event, law enforcement seemingly stood by as the chaos unfolded, opting to follow the aggressive protesters from a distance rather than intervening to protect the TPUSA team.
If academic institutions refuse to safeguard the First Amendment rights of their students, perhaps it’s time for President Donald Trump to intervene with executive action.
Why should taxpayers continue to fund institutions that have transformed into breeding grounds for indoctrination, resembling authoritarian regimes more than educational facilities?
It’s time for decisive action.
