India A’s fast bowler Prasidh Krishna showcased his talent by dismissing Australia A’s Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft off consecutive deliveries on Day 3 of the second unofficial Test in Melbourne on Saturday, November 9. Krishna got Harris caught behind by Dhruv Jurel before trapping Bancroft in front of the stumps, sending both batsmen back to the pavilion for golden ducks.

The dismissals came in the very first over of Australia’s second innings. Krishna bowled a fuller length ball outside off, tempting Harris to drive, but he ended up edging it to Jurel behind the stumps. On the very next delivery, Krishna bowled another fuller-length ball that swung late, beating Bancroft on the inside edge and hitting him plumb in front of the stumps, resulting in an easy decision for the umpire.

Cricket Australia’s official handle shared the videos of the dismissals, highlighting Krishna’s feat of removing two Test contenders in consecutive balls in the first over of the innings.

Prasidh Krishna had previously taken four wickets in the first innings against Australia A. Despite his impressive performance with the ball, India A needed a miracle to defend their target of 167 runs in the second innings. At the time of writing, Australia A were 108/4 while chasing 168, with Sam Konstas and Beau Webster at the crease.

In the first innings, India A were bowled out for 161, with Dhruv Jurel top-scoring with 80 runs. Michael Neser was the pick of the bowlers for Australia, taking 4/27, while Beau Webster claimed three wickets. In response, Australia A posted 223, with Marcus Harris scoring 74 runs.

In the second innings, India managed to score 229, with Jurel, Tanush Kotian, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Prasidh Krishna contributing with the bat. Corey Rocchiccioli was the leading wicket-taker for Australia A, picking up four wickets.

Australia A currently lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning the opening game by seven wickets. The second unofficial Test between India A and Australia A has been a closely contested affair, with both teams showcasing their talent and skills on the field.
