Chicago posted a formidable total of 173 for two in their allotted 10 overs, with Usman Rafiq managing to pick up two wickets for the Gladiators.

In response, the Texas Gladiators openers Dawid Malan and Kennar Lewis got off to a flying start, accumulating 34 runs in the first two overs. However, their momentum was halted when Lewis was dismissed by Sohail Tanvir for 14 off six balls on the first delivery of the third over.
