Pakistan batter Saud Shakeel took advantage of sloppy fielding by Bangladesh during Day 2 of the first Test in Rawalpindi on Thursday, August 22. In a rare sight, Shakeel ran four runs as the ball didn’t go for a boundary, surprising the Bangladesh fielders who failed to chase it down.

The incident occurred during the 48th over of Pakistan’s innings when Nahid Rana bowled a full-length ball outside off and Shakeel played a straight drive towards mid-off. Despite Shoriful Islam’s diving effort to stop the ball, he only managed to slow it down with his fingertips. This allowed Shakeel to capitalize on the opportunity and complete four runs before the Bangladesh fielders could retrieve the ball.

The official Pakistan Cricket handle shared the video of the incident with the caption, “Don’t see this often… An all run 4 for Saud Shakeel.” The footage captured the unique moment where Shakeel’s quick running between the wickets caught the opposition off guard.

Moving on to the match proceedings, Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan’s century partnership put Pakistan in a commanding position against Bangladesh on Day 2. The duo shared a 100-run stand for the fifth wicket, with Shakeel scoring 75 off 139 balls and Rizwan contributing 66 off 78 deliveries. At the time of writing, Pakistan were 219/4 after 56.1 overs, with both batsmen aiming to convert their starts into individual centuries.

Earlier in the game, Shakeel had also formed a crucial 98-run partnership with Saim Ayub after Pakistan struggled at 16/3. However, Abdullah Shafique, captain Shan Masood, and Babar Azam failed to make significant contributions, providing Bangladesh with an initial advantage.

The pacers Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud picked up two wickets each for Bangladesh as they tried to contain the Pakistani batsmen. The match continued to unfold with excitement and competition between the two teams, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

As the game progressed, the battle between bat and ball intensified, with both teams striving to gain the upper hand in the Test match. The partnership between Shakeel and Rizwan showcased the resilience and determination of the Pakistani team, setting the stage for an intriguing contest between the two sides.

Overall, the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh provided cricket enthusiasts with thrilling moments, highlighting the competitive spirit and skill of both teams. Fans eagerly anticipated the outcome of the match as it unfolded, with each session bringing new twists and turns to the game.

In conclusion, the rare sight of Shakeel’s all-run four and the impressive partnerships in the match emphasized the excitement and unpredictability of Test cricket. The ongoing battle between Pakistan and Bangladesh kept viewers engaged and showcased the beauty of the sport, where anything can happen on the field.
