YouTube Becomes the Ultimate Destination for “Sesame Street” Fans
It’s a bright and sunny day for fans of “Sesame Street” as YouTube, in collaboration with Sesame Workshop, has now become the go-to digital library for all things related to the classic children’s show. With over 100 full episodes available for free, YouTube has solidified its position as the largest platform for “Sesame Street” content.
These 100-plus full episodes from previous seasons have been gradually added to YouTube and the YouTube Kids app, marking the first time they are available for viewing. Viewers can enjoy these episodes through the Sesame Street and Sesame Street Classics channels, offering a trip down memory lane with iconic moments from the show’s history.
Among the collection are episodes from recent seasons as well as some of the most memorable moments in “Sesame Street” history. This includes the series premiere episode from 1969, “Welcome to Sesame Street,” which introduced beloved characters like Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, and Kermit the Frog. Other notable episodes such as “Goodbye Mr. Hooper,” “Snuffy Is Revealed,” “Mr. Rogers Visits,” and “Maria & Luis Get Engaged” are also available for free streaming on YouTube.
While YouTube offers a vast collection of “Sesame Street” content, other platforms also cater to fans of the show. Netflix has secured global streaming rights to current-season episodes, while PBS stations and PBS Kids digital platforms offer day-and-date access to episodes in the U.S. Additionally, HBO Max provides a plethora of “Sesame Street” episodes to its subscribers.
Sesame Street took to Twitter to share the exciting news, stating, “Our Street just got a little longer.” They welcomed viewers to explore the extensive library of content available on YouTube, from classic episodes to recent adventures featuring everyone’s favorite Muppets.
In addition to full-length episodes, YouTube also offers a variety of “Sesame Street” content, including YouTube Shorts featuring the Muppets, thematic compilations curated by different topics, and more. Families can now enjoy even more “Sesame Street” content on their screens, with a focus on educational and entertaining programming.
