In a recent press conference, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took an amusing shot at Joe Biden, just as he prepared for his first major public address since his departure from the White House.

Biden’s upcoming speech marks his first significant public engagement since leaving office, following a low-profile appearance at the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) last month, which went entirely unnoticed by the media.

Set to speak in Chicago, the 82-year-old former president aims to address proposed cuts to Social Security and the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is focused on tackling fraud within the system.

Democrats are asserting that the Trump Administration harbors plans to cut Social Security and Medicare benefits, a claim the administration firmly denies.

Elon Musk and his DOGE team have recently unveiled shocking revelations, including instances of identity theft affecting over 400,000 Americans, as well as noncitizens improperly receiving Social Security numbers and benefits.

During the conference, Leavitt emphasized President Trump’s commitment to safeguarding Social Security benefits for law-abiding American citizens and seniors who have contributed to the program. She highlighted his campaign promises and past record, noting that Trump had previously signed an executive order preventing illegal immigrants from accessing Social Security benefits, as reported by .

As reported, Biden appeared to struggle with his speech on Tuesday evening, bizarrely reminiscing about observing “colored kids” on a bus in his youth.

Leavitt quipped that it was past the bedtime for the “angry old man,” referencing Biden’s previous struggles with late-night events, which have often been marred by cognitive decline.

Historically, Biden’s cognitive faculties have sparked concern during his presidency, often limiting his public engagements to daylight hours due to fatigue.

“I was genuinely surprised to see him speaking at night. I had assumed his bedtime would be much earlier than his speech tonight,” Leavitt remarked when asked about the administration’s response to Biden’s comments on Social Security.

“Let me be clear: President Trump is unequivocally dedicated to protecting Social Security benefits for lawful, tax-paying American citizens and seniors who have contributed to this program. He has always prioritized this issue, both in his campaign and during his first term, and he is committed to continuing this protection,” she asserted.

Reporter: Former President Biden is slated to deliver his first major speech since leaving office tonight, focusing on Social Security under the current administration, including office closures and longer wait times that complicate access for seniors and individuals with disabilities. What is the President’s response to what Democrats are framing as cuts to Social Security?

Leavitt: My initial reaction upon learning that former President Biden would be speaking tonight was disbelief that it was happening at night. I thought he typically retired much earlier. Regarding the topic of his speech, let me make it perfectly clear: Ahead of his remarks, President Trump is absolutely resolute in his commitment to safeguarding Social Security benefits for law-abiding, tax-paying American citizens and seniors who have contributed to this program. He will always protect it.
