Warner Bros. Discovery has recently announced new employment contracts for two senior executives, JB Perrette and Bruce Campbell. These contracts are set to extend through 2029 and 2030, respectively, contingent upon the completion of WBD’s separation into two distinct companies: Warner Bros. and Discovery Global.
Bruce Campbell, the current Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer, is expected to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Warner Bros. post-split. Meanwhile, JB Perrette, the President and CEO of Global Streaming and Games, is slated to continue in the same capacity at the newly separated Warner Bros. The separation process is projected to be finalized by mid-2026.
Campbell’s new agreement is set to run through December 31, 2030, while Perrette’s agreement extends through December 31, 2029, with the possibility of renewal. According to an 8-K filing by WBD, the new employment agreements with both executives are dependent on the completion of the separation and outline the terms and conditions of their roles at Warner Bros. post-split.
In addition to Perrette and Campbell, Warner Bros. Discovery has also signed new employment agreements with David Zaslav, the President and CEO, and CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels. Zaslav is expected to assume the role of CEO at the new Warner Bros., with a significant reduction in his target annual compensation. On the other hand, Wiedenfels will transition from his current CFO position to CEO of Discovery Global, with an increase in his pay package to reflect his expanded responsibilities.
These strategic moves underline Warner Bros. Discovery’s commitment to restructuring and optimizing its leadership team in preparation for the upcoming separation. The new employment agreements aim to ensure a smooth transition and efficient operation of both Warner Bros. and Discovery Global post-split. Stay tuned for further updates as the separation process progresses.
