Peacock has officially renewed “Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together” for its second season. Filming is slated to begin this month, with the new episodes scheduled to premiere later this year.
This announcement comes on the heels of the show’s successful debut in June 2025, where it emerged as Peacock’s second most-watched unscripted original series in its first season.
“Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together” features the renowned music duo, offering viewers an inside look into their prominent lives. Married in 2023, the couple are now raising a toddler, balancing their careers and business endeavors with family life. According to the official logline, “This season offers an intimate look at their next chapter as they navigate love, family and global careers.”
Nelly and Ashanti’s relationship began over two decades ago in 2003. Despite periods of separation and reconciliation, by 2026 they have established themselves as a formidable musical partnership. Their son, KK, was born in July 2024.
Nelly, known for his debut solo single in 2000 and hits like “Ride Wit Me,” “Dilemma,” and “Just a Dream,” has received 12 Grammy nominations, winning three. Ashanti launched her solo career with “Foolish” in 2002, earning eight Grammy nominations and one win, and appeared in the 2006 romantic comedy “John Tucker Must Die.”
The couple serves as executive producers alongside Tina Douglas, J Erving, Rebecca Quinn, Jennifer O’Connell, Nick Alarcon, Steve Michaels, Simon Thomas, Ariel Brozell, Oji Singletary, and Asabi Lee. The show is produced by Pantheon Media Group and Velvet Hammer Media.
