Wednesday enthusiasts have been left pondering a tantalizing question: are the creators planting seeds for a romantic rekindling between Wednesday and Tyler? Apparently, they’re not alone in their curiosity.
During a candid chat with Us Weekly at the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride event on Friday, September 26, Isaac Ordonez, the actor behind Pugsley in the beloved Netflix series, shared his thoughts on whether Wednesday (played by Jenna Ortega) and Tyler (played by Hunter Doohan) might be poised for a reunion.
âI think they might be hinting at it,â Ordonez remarked. âIâm not privy to what Alfred [Gough] and Miles [Millar] are concocting, but from what Iâve seen, it certainly seems possible.â
With an insider’s perspective on Wednesday and Tyler’s charged encounters throughout season 2, Ordonez acknowledged the magnetic tension, stating, âShe fell in love with the monster within him. They could be a good matchâI could envision it.â
Wednesday has playfully danced around the prospect of the titular character reconciling with her former flame ever since their abrupt split. Season 1 saw Tyler and Wednesday entwined in a relationship, only for them to devolve into adversariesâalbeit ones heavy with palpable chemistry.
In season 2, which wrapped in September, moments transpired that had many fans scrutinizing Wednesdayâs assertions of disinterest in Tyler. Her decision to liberate Tyler in the finale rather than see him meet a bloody end has undoubtedly kept the flame of possibility alive for this beloved couple.
âFrom Tylerâs perspective, the story goes deeper than romance,â Doohan elaborated in an exclusive interview with Us back in August. âHe believed his mother had died, only to discover she was a Hydeâa fact kept from him. This revelation, combined with manipulation from Laurel, puts him in an emotional whirlpool. Ultimately, Wednesday is the one person who might accept all parts of him without fear or hatred.â
Doohan also hinted at potential romantic developments before heading back to film for season 3, quipping, âCan anyone really be too dark for Wednesday Addams?â
Aside from the potential new chapter for Wednesday and Tyler, Wednesday has begun to offer more depth to Ordonezâs character, Pugsley. Ordonez expressed his excitement, saying, âItâs been incredible to see the overwhelming support for the second season. Iâm super hyped for season 3. While Iâm not sure whatâs ahead for Pugsley, I anticipate something substantial.â
Ordonez shared that working on set feels like being part of a family. âWe genuinely bond over our experiences. Tim [Burton] is an amazing directorâheâs passionate and has a unique vision. Off set, he’s laid-back, but once filming kicks off, heâs intensely focused, determined to realize his artistic vision.â
Wednesday has been given the green light for a third season and continues to be available for streaming on Netflix.
