Wellington Phoenix will face Central Coast Mariners at the Westpac Stadium in an upcoming match in the 2025-26 Australia A-League Men season. The Phoenix have had a slow start to the season and currently sit in 11th place in the standings, just two points behind fifth-placed Perth Glory. A win in front of their home fans could see them climb significantly in the table.

In their last game, Wellington Phoenix faced Newcastle Jets at home and suffered a 3-1 defeat. Despite a fairly even first half, the Nix struggled in the second half, conceding three goals in a seven-minute spell before pulling one back through Ifeanyi Eze. Central Coast Mariners, on the other hand, lost 2-1 to Auckland FC in their last match and will be looking to bounce back.

Both teams have identical records coming into this game, with eight points each. The Mariners will be eager to pull ahead with a win on Saturday.

In head-to-head statistics, Wellington and Central Coast have won 21 games each out of their 54 meetings, with 12 draws. The last nine matches between the two teams have been closely contested, with both sides recording two wins and five draws. Central Coast’s last win at the Westpac Stadium dates back to April 2022 when they won 4-0.

Wellington Phoenix have struggled to keep clean sheets this season, being one of only two teams in the league not to have kept one after the first eight rounds. Despite their recent poor form, the Nix are still considered favorites for this match due to their home advantage.

In terms of prediction, Wellington Phoenix are expected to edge out Central Coast Mariners with a 2-1 victory. The betting tips suggest betting on a Wellington win, over 2.5 goals in the match, and both teams to score.

Overall, Wellington Phoenix will be looking to turn their season around with a win at home, while Central Coast Mariners will be aiming to climb up the table with a positive result. It promises to be an exciting and closely contested match between the two sides.
