Expert Suspects Wendy Williams’ Symptoms May Point to Alcohol-Related Brain Damage

Recent reports suggest that Wendy Williams may be experiencing symptoms that some medical experts suspect could be related to alcohol-induced brain damage rather than dementia. Brain disorder specialist Daniel Amen has been quoted saying that alcohol is a major contributor to cognitive decline and dementia, with alcoholic dementia being the second most common cause.

Williams, who has been addressing her health and conservatorship publicly since early 2025, has had her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, request a new round of neurological and psychological testing to reassess her capacity to make decisions. A court filing in February emphasized the importance of evaluating Williams’ condition through proper medical assessments rather than through speculation from tabloids or online commentary.

In March, Williams was hospitalized after a welfare check and later claimed on Good Day New York that she had passed her hospital tests “with flying colors.” However, Morrissey revealed that Williams had declined the court-ordered medical evaluation, which included an MRI and psychological assessments.

When questioned about her decision to skip the tests, Williams denied any knowledge of it, stating, “Bulls—. I am open to what I am open to, and I can’t talk about it right now.”
