Interstate 70 West has been reopened near Copper Mountain after being closed due to safety concerns caused by ongoing snowfall, as reported by the Colorado Department of Transportation. The closure, which spanned between Exit 195 for Copper Mountain and Exit 180 for Vail, has now been lifted as of 9:30 a.m.
Traffic cameras in the area of the closure depicted hazardous road conditions with white, icy roads and blowing snow. Additionally, U.S. 40 was shut down in both directions near Winter Park as crews worked to clear snow from the roadway. The closure on U.S. 40, between Cooper Creek Way and Henderson Mine Road, has since reopened around 9 a.m. on Monday.
