Episode 7 of Dream to You centers on casting for the film Gyeongseong Love Song. Ahn Soo-hee insists that Shim Yoo-geon take the male lead role of Mu-gyeom, threatening to remove Joo Yi-jae as director if her demand is rejected. To protect Yi-jae’s role, Woo Soo-bin agrees, although he initially planned to assess Yoo-geon through a proper audition.
Soo-bin tells Yoo-geon to keep their arrangement secret to prevent Yi-jae from feeling guilty. However, Yoo-geon decides to inform Yi-jae about the situation. She talks to Soo-bin about his sacrifice, expressing that she no longer blames him. She recalls that his interest in films stemmed from his feelings for her and describes those emotions as meaningful.
Yi-jae also asserts that the love they shared at 18 and 19 is still alive and asks him not to stop feeling that way. After sharing a kiss, they tour the filming set together before the first shoot.
Meanwhile, in episode 7, Oh Ha-na approaches Soo-bin and Yi-jae for a role in the film. She explains that her life has been spent following orders without pursuing personal dreams, drawing parallels between her situation and the female lead character Nan-yeong, who seeks freedom from confinement. Ha-na was inspired to envision a different future after meeting someone who reminded her of Mu-gyeom.
Soo-bin, reflecting on his past lack of direction, casts her in the role. Yoo-geon signs an exclusive contract with Ahn Soo-hee, which includes a clause that he must not develop feelings for Ha-na. He distances himself from her, claiming there was never anything between them. Ha-na, feeling misled, leaves in tears. The two will work together on the film with Yoo-geon as Mu-gyeom and Ha-na as Nan-yeong.

Episode 8 of Dream to You picks up with production in full swing. As rehearsals begin, Ahn Soo-hee removes Yoo-geon from the project due to contract issues. Ha-na signs a new contract with her mother to safeguard Yoo-geon, causing further disruption. Cheol-gyu visits Soo-bin’s studio, and Ahn Soo-hee records the encounter.
The episode reveals the history between Cheol-gyu and Soo-hee. Cheol-gyu informs Soo-bin that Soo-hee is his biological mother and that he and Ha-na are half-siblings, having been given up by her years earlier to pursue her career. Soo-bin has known this since childhood from family discussions.
Soo-bin shares this information with Yi-jae, who is taken aback. Soo-hee advises Soo-bin not to reveal the truth to Ha-na and questions his intentions for casting her. Soo-bin clarifies that his casting decision was purely professional.
Soo-bin and Yi-jae’s private romance continues in episode 8, sharing intimate moments during a team dinner and in private.
Meanwhile, Ha-na and Yoo-geon face ongoing tension on set. Yoo-geon becomes intoxicated, and Ha-na helps him when he struggles to open his room door. He embraces her from behind, apologizes, and acknowledges his feelings. Ha-na tells him to keep developing those feelings as a consequence.
Seo In-wook and Choi Sa-rang reunite and spend the night together. Sa-rang asks In-wook to stay with her until the film’s completion, and In-wook realizes the depth of his feelings.
In episode 8, an actor named Seong-moo joins the production in a supporting role. Yi-jae identifies him as a former partner. Near the episode’s end, an incident on set occurs where part of the set falls, and a man saves Yi-jae, hinting at a link to her past.
Yoo-geon considers leaving the film due to contractual obligations and pressures. Ha-na relates her own situation to the independence sought by her character.
