In terms of stock performance, 3M’s shares have climbed 27.4% over the past 52 weeks, outperforming the S&P 500 Index and the Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund. The company’s stock surged by 7.7% on October 21 after raising its 2025 adjusted EPS forecast to $7.95 – $8.05. This upward revision was driven by a strategic focus on higher-margin products and cost controls.

Investors were impressed by the company’s product innovation initiatives, including 70 new product launches in Q3 and plans for a total of 250 by the end of the year. Additionally, a significant decrease in selling, general, and administrative expenses by 22.8% further boosted investor confidence.

Analysts’ sentiment towards 3M stock remains cautiously optimistic, with a consensus rating of “Moderate Buy.” Out of 16 analysts covering the stock, nine recommend a “Strong Buy,” six suggest a “Hold,” and one advises a “Strong Sell.” While the overall sentiment has slightly shifted from three months ago, with fewer “Strong Buy” ratings, the average analyst price target for 3M Company stands at $177.40, implying a potential upside of 9.5% from the current levels.
