Despite being described as “low-wattage” by WaPo and lacking the presence of a president or comedian, the event held a certain allure due to its pomp and circumstance. White House Correspondents’ Association President Eugene Daniels summed it up perfectly by stating, “There’s no president, there’s no comedian. It’s just us.” Nevertheless, the experience left me wanting more and I look forward to attending again in the future.
