The Winter Games in Milan have seen some unexpected challenges for the medalists this year. American skier Breezy Johnson shared her cautionary tale after her gold medal broke when she jumped in excitement upon receiving it. She advised fellow medalists not to make the same mistake.

Reports have emerged of medals detaching from their ribbons and even breaking in half, affecting several athletes including Johnson. The Olympic organizing committee spokesperson has acknowledged the issue and assured athletes that a solution has been identified, urging those with faulty medals to return them for repair.
