Season 2 of the hit show “Landman” premiered on Paramount+ on November 16, 2025, bringing back the gritty world of the oil industry. Based on Christian Wallace’s podcast “Boomtown,” the show follows the life of landman Tommy Norris, portrayed by the talented Billy Bob Thornton.

Filming for the second season began in North Texas in March 2025 before expanding to Oklahoma. Real-life locations were used to capture the authentic atmosphere of the oil industry, with iconic sites like the Petroleum Club in Fort Worth and Texas Christian University (TCU) serving as key filming locations.

The major filming locations for season 2 include Fort Worth and its surrounding areas, Springtown, Jacksboro, and Durant, Oklahoma. Fort Worth doubled as West Texas, providing the perfect backdrop for high-stakes scenes in the oil industry. Nearby towns like Springtown and Jacksboro also played important roles in the production, with key locations like the First United Methodist Church in Springtown and the Jacksboro Police Department being featured in the show.

In Durant, Oklahoma, the production team shot scenes at the Choctaw Casino & Resort, adding a new dimension to the story. Throughout the season, local businesses and gas stations in the Fort Worth area were transformed to fit the narrative, adding a touch of authenticity to the show.

Season 2 picks up with Tommy Norris facing new challenges following the death of Monty and the rise of Cami Miller, played by Demi Moore, in the oil business. As Tommy navigates his new role at M-Tex Oil, he must juggle family responsibilities with the harsh realities of the industry. Cami’s ascension to power brings new conflicts to the forefront, highlighting the struggles of balancing family, power, and business in the oil industry.
