In a striking display of political theater, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has taken to traditional media platforms to express his disapproval of President Trump’s recent measures, characterizing them as a misguided attempt to transform Chicago into a âwar zone.â
This Sunday, President Trump authorized the deployment of four hundred Texas National Guard troops to Illinois and Oregon, intended to safeguard ICE agents and federal facilities facing violent unrest attributed to Antifa and other leftist groups in cities like Chicago and Portland.
A report from The Gateway Pundit details Pritzker’s remarks during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union.” He accused Trump of orchestrating a strategy aimed at inciting chaos on the streets.
Pritzker’s dramatic response to the National Guard’s deployment can be summarized in this excerpt from his statement:
âThis evening, President Trump is dispatching 400 members of the Texas National Guard to Illinois, Oregon, and several other locations nationwide without prior consultation with my office.â
âWe must recognize this for what it truly is: Trumpâs Invasion. It commenced with federal agents, it will soon involve Illinois National Guard members forced to participate against our will, and now it includes the military forces of another state.â
In a swift rebuttal, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson responded to Pritzker’s grievances in a statement to Fox News.
âChicago is spiraling into lawlessness and turmoil because this governor prioritizes enhancing his anti-Trump posture on social media over making his city secure,â declared Jackson. âPritzker should be embarrassed for his failure to prioritize safety.â
It is apparent that Chicago is in desperate need of federal intervention. Recent reports indicate that local police were instructed to disregard calls for assistance from federal agents who found themselves in perilous situations during weekend clashes.
In one alarming incident, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents faced an ambush involving an armed suspect in Broadview, Illinois.
This brazen attack, which saw ten vehicles encircle the agents’ car, culminated in officers firing defensive shots against an assailant, a U.S. citizen wielding a semi-automatic weapon.
