Washington:
The White House doctor’s assessment on Sunday confirmed that Donald Trump is in “excellent health” following his first annual medical checkup since returning to the US presidency. The physician’s letter shared by the White House stated, “President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
During the examination at the Walter Reed military hospital in the Washington suburbs, only a few minor abnormalities were noted, including minor sun damage to Trump’s skin and scarring on his right ear from a gunshot wound sustained during an assassination attempt last July.
Trump, 78, has been vocal about his own vitality, contrasting himself with his 82-year-old Democratic predecessor Joe Biden. He expressed feeling “in very good shape” after the recent medical checkup.
Despite criticism for lack of transparency about his health, the White House assured that the full report from presidential physician Sean Barbabella would be provided. This renewed focus on Trump’s health comes amidst ongoing interest in the well-being of the American president.
