“Dancing With the Stars” honored movie magic during Oscars Night, but it was a bittersweet evening for two duos who faced a double elimination. Celebrity contestants and their pro partners showcased their skills to songs from Oscar-nominated films on the Tuesday, September 24, episode. Unfortunately, at the end of the night, Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart, Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater, and Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard. Ultimately, Delvey, Sosa, Tori Spelling, and Pasha Pashkov were sent home in a surprising double elimination.

Despite the sad departures, there were plenty of touching moments during the episode. Roberts, visibly emotional, reminisced with Stewart about his Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for “Runaway Train” in 1986. He described the nomination as a dream come true and a feeling beyond imagination. Although judge Derek Hough expressed his honor to have an Oscar nominee in the ballroom, he didn’t hold back in scoring Roberts.

VelJohnson also paid tribute to his film career by dancing to Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” from “Die Hard,” wearing a police uniform as a nod to his character in the film. He dedicated the performance to Bruce Willis, who has been battling aphasia since 2022, thanking him for his kindness during their time working together.

As the competition intensifies, so do the connections between the pairs. Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko continue to fuel speculation about a potential showmance. Nader joked about Savchenko emphasizing the importance of a strong connection in their dance, hinting at the chemistry between them. Inaba playfully teased about a missing kiss in their routine, prompting cohost Alfonso Ribeiro to remind her that it’s still early in the competition.

Despite the ups and downs of Oscars Night on “Dancing With the Stars,” the show continues to captivate audiences with its dazzling performances and emotional moments. Stay tuned for more excitement as the competition heats up and the remaining pairs vie for the coveted mirrorball trophy.
