Witch paddles have become a popular Halloween tradition in recent years, adding a spooky twist to the holiday festivities. Instead of flying on broomsticks, hundreds of revelers across the nation are now climbing onto stand-up paddleboards and gliding across bodies of water dressed as witches and warlocks.

The sight of these paddleboarding witches and warlocks, with their pointy hats and billowing robes, creates striking silhouettes on the horizon. Many of these gatherings are not just for fun, but also serve as fundraisers for charity. Events in Colorado, California, Michigan, Florida, and even internationally in places like the United Arab Emirates and British Columbia, bring together paddlers in costume to support various causes.

One such event is Witches on the Water in Chatham, Massachusetts, which has raised over $80,000 for local nonprofits since 2020. This year, the funds will go to Dream Day on Cape Cod, a nonprofit that provides free adventures for children facing serious illnesses at Camp Nan-Ke-Rafe. Similarly, the Witches and Warlocks Paddle in Morro Bay, California, supports the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County.

While some witch paddles are organized to raise money for charity, others are purely for fun and community-building. Participants and onlookers alike enjoy the festive atmosphere as witches playfully cackle at passersby while gliding across the water. These events bring people together who love being on the water and embrace the Halloween spirit in a unique and memorable way.

From Colorado to California, these witch paddles have become a beloved Halloween tradition that combines outdoor adventure, charitable giving, and community spirit. Whether paddling for a cause or simply for the joy of being on the water, these witches and warlocks on paddleboards are sure to cast a spell of fun and excitement on all who witness their enchanting journey.
