Chris Noth Calls Out Sarah Jessica Parker for Not Hearing His Side of the Story
Chris Noth has spoken out about his disappointment with former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker for not reaching out to him before publicly supporting his accusers in a sexual assault scandal that rocked Hollywood in 2021.
The 71-year-old actor was accused of sexual assault by three women, but vehemently denied the claims. In response to the allegations, Parker, along with fellow SATC stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, released a joint statement expressing their support for the women who had come forward.
Noth expressed his disappointment with the statement, calling it “disappointing” and “pretty obvious” that he was no longer friends with Parker.
Speaking on a podcast, Noth criticized the statement as merely a form of brand management, emphasizing that Parker should have reached out to him to hear his side of the story given their long-standing professional relationship.
Despite the fallout between Noth and Parker, the actor appeared in all six seasons of Sex and the City, as well as the series’ two follow-up movies. He also made a brief return in the sequel series, And Just Like That, in 2021 before his character was killed off in the opening episode.
Noth reflected on the situation, stating that it revealed who his true friends were and expressing his disappointment that Parker did not give him the opportunity to explain his perspective.
Addressing a recent controversy where Noth appeared to take a dig at Parker on social media, the actor clarified that his comments were misconstrued and not intended to cause any harm.
In 2023, amidst the ongoing allegations, Noth once again denied the sexual assault claims but did acknowledge infidelity in his marriage to Tara Wilson. The couple, who have been married since April 2012, share two sons together.
Noth admitted to cheating on his wife but maintained that the encounters were consensual and not criminal in nature.
Despite the challenges he has faced, Noth continues to navigate the fallout from the scandal while maintaining his innocence and addressing the impact it has had on his personal and professional life.
