The Nacelle Company has announced plans to create a new animated series based on the beloved ’90s show “Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa.” This exciting news comes just before the start of San Diego Comic-Con 2025 and is part of the company’s larger vision to build a shared universe of reimagined toy and animation classics known as the NacelleVerse.
Originally created in 1991 by Ryan Brown, the mastermind behind “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” quickly gained a dedicated following. The franchise spawned a toy line, a Saturday morning cartoon on ABC, comic books, and even an arcade game. Now, The Nacelle Company is breathing new life into the series with a fresh animated reboot set to debut in 2027. This upcoming show will exist within the same universe as two other Nacelle animated reboots: “RoboForce,” produced by Brian Volk-Weiss, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Seven Bucks Productions; and “Biker Mice From Mars,” produced by Volk-Weiss, Ryan Reynolds, and Maximum Effort.
The new animated series will consist of eight episodes and will transport viewers back to the 1800s, where a group of bovine lawmen, led by Marshal Moo Montana, Cowlorado Kid, and Dakota Dude, work tirelessly to uphold justice and protect CowTown from the likes of corrupt Mayor Oscar Bulloney and his band of outlaw cohorts. Fans can also expect to see familiar faces from the original series, including Cowlamity Kate, Lily Bovine, and Cody Calf, making a return in the reboot.
In line with their successful casting strategies for “RoboForce” and “Biker Mice From Mars,” The Nacelle Company is currently in talks with various celebrities to join the “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” revival. Additionally, in collaboration with Oni Press, they will be launching “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa: Origins” in September, a four-issue comic miniseries that delves into the origins of the C.O.W.-Boys following a transformative event known as the Great Comet.
Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company, Brian Volk-Weiss, expressed his excitement for the “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” reimagining, stating that the relaunch embodies everything they cherish in storytelling – creativity, nostalgia, and heartfelt connections. Attendees at San Diego Comic-Con can get a sneak peek of what’s in store by visiting Nacelle at Booth #2547, where they can snag exclusive giveaways, preview artwork from the upcoming comic and animated series, and even catch a glimpse of the new “C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa” action figures.
As The Nacelle Company continues to expand the NacelleVerse with iconic reboots and fresh interpretations, fans can look forward to a wave of exciting content that pays homage to classic favorites while paving the way for new adventures in animation.
