A tragic incident unfolded in a Wisconsin apartment building when a dispute over loud music turned deadly for a well-known dentist.
Keionna McGowan was charged with the fatal shooting of her neighbor, Dr. Akintunde Bowden, after he reportedly asked her to lower the volume of her music on Apr. 19, as reported by WISN 12.
According to the criminal complaint reviewed by WISN 12, the 27-year-old McGowan was playing music in her apartment when Bowden, 41, confronted her aggressively, leading to a tragic escalation of events.
McGowan claimed that Bowden appeared intoxicated and after initially agreeing to lower the music, the situation continued to escalate.
Allegedly, when Bowden kicked her door, McGowan retrieved a gun, opened the door, and fired at him when he attempted to kick again, resulting in the tragic outcome.
When authorities arrived, McGowan was outside her apartment building, frantically claiming that Bowden was inside her apartment, leading to the discovery of Bowden’s lifeless body at the scene.
The autopsy report from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that Bowden succumbed to a single gunshot wound to his lower abdomen.
McGowan was charged with second-degree reckless homicide with the use of a dangerous weapon and is set for a preliminary hearing on May 5.
The community mourned the loss of Dr. Bowden, a dedicated dentist who provided services for over a decade, emphasizing his impact on the health and well-being of patients.
Bowden’s brothers, also dentists, highlighted his commitment to serving those in need and expressed the deep sorrow at the sudden loss of their beloved family member.
