Milwaukee Judge Arrested for Allegedly Helping Illegal Immigrant Escape Authorities

Last week, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested on federal charges for allegedly aiding an illegal immigrant in evading authorities. Despite not being on the bench, she is still receiving her salary, as confirmed by the Wisconsin Court System.

A reserve judge has taken over Dugan’s responsibilities, with no administrative leave in place at the moment. Dugan is scheduled to appear in court for her criminal case on May 15.

The charges against Dugan include obstruction of justice and concealing Eduardo Flores-Ruiz from immigration authorities. Prosecutors claim that Dugan was aware of ICE agents in the building during Flores-Ruiz’s hearing and helped him escape arrest.

If convicted, Dugan could face up to 10 years in prison. The arrest has sparked protests in Wisconsin, with other judges like Monica Isham expressing concerns about the lack of support in such situations.
