Exciting news for skiers and snowboarders in Colorado! Wolf Creek ski area will be the first to open for the 2024-25 season, claiming first-tracks honors on Tuesday. Located at Wolf Creek Pass in southern Colorado, this 85-year-old ski mountain received 26 inches of snow recently, allowing them to open 11 trails at 9 a.m. with an 18-inch base. Lift tickets are priced at $68 for eager winter sports enthusiasts.
This early opening sets a record for Colorado, surpassing previous years’ opening dates. Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Keystone, and Copper Mountain are also gearing up for the season, with Arapahoe Basin being the first to open in recent years. Despite Wolf Creek’s early opening, Arapahoe Basin remains determined to open as soon as possible, congratulating Wolf Creek on their strong start to the winter season.
