A tragic incident occurred at the Denver County Jail as a woman passed away while in custody, according to sheriff’s officials on Friday.
The woman was discovered unresponsive in a housing unit at 2:40 p.m., prompting an emergency medical team to attempt life-saving measures, as stated by the Denver Sheriff Department in a news release.
Despite efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
An investigation into the death will be conducted by the Denver Police Department, with the woman’s identity and cause of death to be disclosed by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
