WWE official Ava made a surprise appearance at NXT tonight and had a major announcement to make. A few weeks ago, Ava had revealed that the Speed Titles would be introduced to NXT. Following that announcement, tournaments were held to determine contenders for both the men’s and women’s Speed Titles. Unfortunately, Sol Ruca had to vacate her title due to injury, leading to another tournament to determine a new challenger. Fallon Henley and Zaria emerged as the finalists and faced off for the vacant title on tonight’s episode of NXT.
The match between Henley and Zaria was intense and competitive, eventually ending in a time limit draw. In response, Ava declared that a new Women’s Speed Champion must be crowned that very night. The match was restarted as a sudden death bout, with the first wrestler to score a fall being declared the winner. As the battle continued, Lainey Reid intervened by saving Henley from Zaria’s spear, causing Zaria to crash into the steel steps. This allowed Henley to execute her signature move and secure the victory, becoming the new Women’s Speed Champion.
In a previous episode, Ava had made another significant announcement regarding the men’s and women’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. She revealed that John Cena would be responsible for selecting the participants for both challenges on NXT Gold Rush. However, it was not confirmed whether Cena would make a personal appearance for the selection process. Fans are eagerly anticipating Cena’s choices for the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline.
As the NXT Deadline approaches, the excitement and anticipation continue to build within the NXT universe. Stay tuned to see how these developments unfold and who will emerge victorious in the upcoming challenges.
