The Rock, also known as Dwayne Johnson, is undeniably one of the biggest names to have emerged from the world of WWE. His journey to superstardom was not without its challenges, and a veteran writer, Vince Russo, recently shed light on the crucial role he played in The Brahma Bull’s rise to fame.

Vince Russo, who spent several years working in WWE and played a key role in shaping the careers of many superstars, revealed some insightful details about The Rock’s early days in the company. According to Russo, The Rock faced a rough start as he was booed out of the building during his initial appearance as Rocky Maivia.

During a recent episode of The Coach and Bro Show Wrestling Show on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, Russo shared how he gave The Rock some important advice that helped him turn things around. One of the key tips Russo gave him was to refer to himself in the third person during interviews, a move that ultimately had a significant impact on The Rock’s character and persona.

“I was there when Rocky Maivia came out with his tassels and got booed out of the building,” Russo recalled. He then went on to reveal how he pulled The Rock aside and advised him to use the third person narrative, saying, “Refer to yourself in the third person.” Despite not receiving any immediate acknowledgment from The Rock, Russo’s guidance played a crucial role in shaping The Rock’s on-screen persona.

Russo also mentioned that Brian Gewirtz received all the credit for The Rock’s success, and the two ended up working closely together even outside of WWE. While Gewirtz received gifts and recognition from The Brahma Bull over the years, Russo felt overlooked and unappreciated for his contributions to The Rock’s career.

In conclusion, The Rock’s journey to becoming a global icon was undoubtedly shaped by the advice and guidance of individuals like Vince Russo. Despite the challenges he faced early on in his career, The Rock’s determination and talent eventually propelled him to unprecedented levels of success in both the world of professional wrestling and Hollywood.
