FX has announced a new series that will bring the world of “Alien” closer to home. Titled “Alien: Earth,” this eight-episode show serves as a prequel to Ridley Scott’s iconic film “Alien.” The first full trailer has been released, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect.

The show features a talented cast, including Sydney Chandler as Wendy, Alex Lawther as CJ, Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, and Adarsh Gourav as Slightly. Gourav expressed his excitement about being part of a sci-fi horror and psychological thriller series, highlighting his passion for these genres as an actor.

Joining the cast are Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, Kit Young as Toodles, and Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier. The series is helmed by “Fargo” creator Noah Hawley, who serves as the showrunner, adding his unique vision to the story.

The official logline for “Alien: Earth” sets the stage for an intense and gripping narrative. Set in the year 2120, the Earth is controlled by five powerful corporations, each vying for dominance. The arrival of hybrids, a new technological advancement, changes the game and leads to a terrifying encounter with mysterious life forms.

While the “Alien” franchise has seen success on the big screen with nine films, “Alien: Earth” marks its first foray into television. The series is set to premiere on August 12, with FX expressing optimism about its future. FX boss John Landgraf has indicated that they are hopeful for a second season of the show, urging the creators to focus on writing two seasons.

Fans can catch a glimpse of what’s to come by watching the trailer for “Alien: Earth.” With a talented cast, an intriguing premise, and the creative vision of Noah Hawley, this series promises to captivate audiences with its blend of sci-fi, horror, and psychological thrills. Stay tuned for the premiere of “Alien: Earth” and prepare for an unforgettable journey into the world of “Alien.”
