Kim Clijsters, the former Belgian tennis player, has once again faced a setback in her recovery journey as she ruptured her Achilles tendon for the second time. The injury occurred while she was at home, just two weeks into recovering from a previous surgery she underwent after sustaining the initial fracture during the Luxembourg Ladies Legends Exhibition.

In a recent Instagram post, Clijsters shared the unfortunate incident that led to her re-injury. She explained how she lost her balance while getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and instinctively put weight on her injured foot, resulting in the re-rupture of her Achilles tendon. This necessitated another surgery, forcing her to start the recovery process all over again.

The tennis community rallied around Clijsters, offering words of encouragement and support on social media. Tennis legends like Chris Evert and Caroline Wozniacki sent heartfelt messages, expressing their admiration for Clijsters’ strength and resilience. Even Andy Roddick’s wife, Brooklyn Decker, and former Italian tennis player, joined in sending their well wishes for a speedy recovery.

This latest setback comes after Clijsters suffered the initial injury at the Luxembourg Legends Exhibition in October 2025. Following the first surgery, she shared her feelings about the unexpected setback in a video on Instagram, expressing her determination to overcome the injury and return to full health.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Clijsters remains positive and grateful for the outpouring of support from her fans and fellow players. She is determined to focus on her recovery and looks forward to reuniting with her family in the United States.

As Clijsters navigates through this difficult period, the tennis world continues to stand by her side, offering their unwavering support and encouragement. Her resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to all, showcasing her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity.

The journey to recovery may be long and challenging, but with the support of her fans and the tennis community, Kim Clijsters remains steadfast in her pursuit of returning to the sport she loves. We wish her a speedy and successful recovery as she embarks on this next chapter in her comeback story.
