Tragic Consequences of Immigration Policies: A Personal Account

Wesley Hayes, a devoted husband and father, tragically lost his life due to a drunk driving incident involving an illegal immigrant. His untimely death left behind his wife, Olivia, and their five-month-old daughter, Ann Marie, who must now navigate life without him.

In a heartfelt appearance on Fox & Friends, Olivia spoke out against the immigration policies of the Biden-Harris administration, linking them directly to her family’s heartbreak. She praised former President Trump for his approach to immigration, suggesting that his policies might have prevented her family’s tragedy.

“The broken policies of the previous administration shattered my family, and there’s no way to reverse that,” she lamented. “However, I believe that in President Trump’s first hundred days, his decisive actions can help ensure that what happened to us doesn’t happen to others.”

Olivia highlighted several measures taken by Trump that she credits for their effectiveness: “He has reinstated border wall construction and engaged with Mexican authorities to ensure proper patrol on their side of the border.”

“Furthermore, he empowered Tom Homan to rigorously enforce immigration laws and hold sanctuary cities accountable for their non-compliance,” she added. “As a result of these initiatives, we’ve witnessed a remarkable decline—over 95%—in illegal border crossings.”

“This data clearly indicates that all we needed was a president who genuinely cared, along with a capable border czar, to safeguard innocent American lives from an influx of not only criminals but also those who disregard the established procedures for becoming American citizens.”

Olivia was also invited by Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to attend President Trump’s joint congressional address in March. Johnson remarked to The Blaze, “Wesley Hayes was an engaged community member, a dedicated Christian, and a new father whose life was cut short by the actions of an illegal immigrant.”

“Instead of nurturing their young family, Olivia is now left to raise her child alone as a widow,” he continued. “It’s a privilege to host Olivia at President Trump’s address to Congress, honoring Wesley’s legacy while shedding light on the human impact of the Biden administration’s open-border policies.”
