During the interview, the journalist brought up Bob Weinstein, who played a key role in establishing the now-closed The Weinstein Company.
When questioned if he was taken aback by his brother severing ties after the controversy, Weinstein responded, “Not at all.”
He elaborated, “He’s eager to work, and this ruined his career as well. He thinks that by criticizing me, he might resume his career. Unfortunately for him, they will never allow him to return. He’s in the same situation as me. But it wasn’t unexpected. The final years of The Weinstein Co. were filled with conflict between us.”
Weinstein firmly refuted Bob’s allegations that he was responsible for the company’s downfall, asserting instead that he rescued it.
“We delivered success after success. It wasn’t limited to films. I also established our television division. Many are unaware, but one of my last contributions was bringing Taylor Sheridan to Yellowstone. Sheridan intended to cast Robert Redford, but I advised him, ‘You need to get Kevin Costner.’ It turned into a huge success. But then, this situation arose, and people tend to forget,” he stated about his efforts for The Weinstein Company.
