Chicago Police Close In on Suspects in Norwood Park Murder Case

Chicago police are on the verge of making arrests in connection with a brutal home invasion and murder in Norwood Park. Alderman Brian Hopkins, chair of the City Council’s Committee on Public Safety, revealed on Twitter that two undocumented migrants are set to face charges in the case.

The victim, George Levin, 63, was discovered dead in his home on the 7600 block of West Talcott. He had been restrained with duct tape and electrical cord, and the medical examiner determined that he died from multiple injuries sustained in an assault.

Authorities believe that Levin may have met his killers through an app, and a breakthrough in the investigation came when a license plate was linked to the crime. This information led police to one of the suspects, who is reportedly from Venezuela.

This tragic incident marks only the 11th murder in Norwood Park since 2001, with the last one occurring in September 2022. The community is reeling from the shocking nature of the crime and is eager for justice to be served.

As details continue to unfold in this case, stay tuned for updates on this developing story. Your support helps us bring you original reporting that you won’t find anywhere else. Thank you for standing with us as we strive to keep our community informed and safe.
